I take care of the Slackware build script on SBo, and it's stuck at 4.1.3. It may be a bit different for others, but the Slack build scripts rely on downloadable tarballs. Like you, I only package for openSUSE and only package for released versions with a tarball: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/security:forensics/sleuthkit If the tsk fixes are important enough I can (and do) add patches to the build. You can see that I'm carrying a very simple one of those now. I assume the Slack build scripts support that as well. Can someone summarize any patches that should be picked up by the distro's?
