Hi Colby,

You might improve your mileage by acquiring the drive
in reverse (reverse sector cloning).  'ddrescue' can
do this on the Linux side of the house.  There is
another *nix utility but I've brain farted and cannot
remember it at this point.  Look into it and see if
that doesn't help you.
