[sleuthkit-users] shortcut to start program

I a bit of a novice with Linux and I have installed
Sleuthkit and 
Autopsy and they both work.  What I want to know is
how can a make a 
program shortcut to start them?  I have used some of
the Live CD 
installs of Knoppix that have had sleuthkit and
autopsy setup this way, 
so you click on an Icon and the program starts.
Now I have to first run the .\autopsy script then copy
the address from 
that windows and past into a browser.  And I have to
leave the window 
from the script open otherwise it quits.
any help would be appreciated.
