Just a quick note to let the list know that I gave evidence in English Crown Court yesterday in a murder trial. Testimony was based on timelines established and files recovered through sleuthkit & autopsy. No challenge of the validity of this evidence was made during cross-examination. (For those really interested - R. vs. Coutts, Lewes Crown Court) I therefore assume that, under English law, these tools have been accepted as an acceptable method of recovering evidence.
