Welcome to the Sleeper OS FAQ! This page contains answers to common questions about Sleeper OS, a Linux distribution based on Rocky Linux.
Sleeper OS is based on Rocky Linux because it provides a solid foundation for a stable and reliable Linux distribution. Rocky Linux is designed to be a community-driven and enterprise-grade operating system, which aligns well with the goals of Sleeper OS. By using Rocky Linux as our base, we can benefit from its security updates, bug fixes, and compatibility with CentOS.
"Bloatware" refers to unnecessary or redundant software applications that come pre-installed with an operating system. These applications often take up valuable disk space, memory, and processing power, potentially slowing down the system. One of the key advantages of Sleeper OS is that it is significantly reduced in bloatware. We focus on providing a streamlined and efficient user experience by excluding unnecessary software.
Currently, Sleeper OS is only available in VMDK (Virtual Machine Disk) format due to technical constraints. We have not yet found a suitable software solution to generate the ISO format. While we understand the importance of offering different formats for installation, we are actively working on finding a solution to provide an ISO version in the future.
