Since I would like to vied the created slideshows on a
16:9 TV set, I would like to create the shows with this
in mind.

Meaning I would like to crop each image to the proper
apect ratio (height 75%, width 100%).

Not sure if this is possible at all, but it would make
things easier, as you only see stuff in the cropped
image that really is shown on the TV set.

Otherwise teh TV will crop some stuff at the top and
bottom that might be worth seeing.

Not sure if dvd-slideshow allows this at all.

As far as I know dvd-slideshow does not support 16:9 aspect
ratio, so you can only output in standard dvd 4:3 format.
I will check and try to manage somenting useful to mark the
stripes eventually cutted of by a 16:9 tv set.

That would be all I could ask for ;-)
Maybe just change the rectangles (the yellow and red ones)
that get shown, or something like that.

Best would be real 16:9, but I can fully understand that
this is outside of this project and should be asked from the
    dvd-slideshow maintainers.

    Thanks for considering it.
