Here's a patch to add code to Search.pm, search.pl and
searchform;search;default to let the FAQ plugin be
searchable.

The template is setup such that if the plugin's
installed to a site, it'll show up in the search form
menu. Otherwise, it won't, and it'll be completely
transparent for a site that doesn't have the faq plugin
installed.

If you want to try this out, this exact code is running
on http://www.lottadot.com/faqster.pl

    Ok, now it's definite. The upload a file mechanism on this
    form does NOT work when you *first submit* a patch. Here's
    the file:

    What is faqster? What FAQ plugin?

    It's a plugin to manage faq's. See <a
    href="http://www.lottadot.com/faqster.pl?op=view&faqid=1&section=articles">http://www.lottadot.com/faqster.pl?op=view&faqid=1&section=articles</a>
    for an example. The discussion that started it all was <a
    href="http://slashcode.com/article.pl?sid=03/02/07/0310243">http://slashcode.com/article.pl?sid=03/02/07/0310243</a>.
    The idea was to use the search plugin so that each faq would be full-text
    searchable. It's GPL and cvs'able if you want to have a look.

    I am afraid I am going to have to turn this down ... what is
    really needed is a good way to plug other things into the
    Search plugin.

    I mean "plug in other things ... without modifying the
    Search plugin code for each one." Maybe a way to list other
    search methods to be dispatched to in the DB, or something.
