[Slashcode-general] User nobody

Hello I am trying tioupgrade to 2.0,
while running the make install in the slash directory it seems I have
the following problem:
chown nobody:nobody /usr/local/slash
chown: `nobody:nobody': invalid group
I am using Debian and my apache user is www-data,
I think it would be nice to check  somehow what group and user is used
to run apache.
Anybody found a nice solution rather than just doing it by hand?

I was wondering if anybody could provide any help.
I get the error message:

DBD::mysql::db do failed: Column 'uid' cannot be null at
./slash1toslash2 line 378, <STDIN> line 3.
Column 'uid' cannot be null at ./slash1toslash2 line 380, <STDIN> line
3.


only one author had a matching users,

so I changed changed user names and matchname to match the

authors ones, with no success.

I had also an NULL author corresponding to the name all authors

I changed its aid and matchname to match a users with no

success either.

I do not know what else to do.

Look through the stories and comments tables,
and make sure all uid's in both tables point to
valid uid's in the user's table.

Thanks I got it to work.
I had a couple problems with uids,
the last problem was an user with uid 0, which once set to another value
the script worked like a charm.

[Slashcode-general] index.shtml or index.pl

[Leoncini X. <xa...@ny...>]

I have a question regarding the change in the new config.
It seems that the new slash starts first with the index.pl,
which kind of make my computer choke for while before answering.
I wonder why this change has been made, or is this wait period just due
because I just chose
to not recompile apache and just used the deb apache and mod_perl.
I know I could just try and compare ut If someone has a similar experience
and solved it
I woulld appreciate.

For access index.shtml you can enable this line commented out in the
apache conf for a virtual site:

    # this directive will redirect non-logged-in users to
    # index.shtml if they request the home page; turn it
    # on to help increase performance
    #PerlTransHandler Slash::Apache::IndexHandler
