I am running a small slash site on a P200 MMX processor with 64MB of RAM, and it does not run quickly by any stretch of the imagination. It can take up to 10-15 seconds for each page to load. I've tried running top to see what is taking so long, and nothing ever really gets over 40% of the CPU at any time, and the memory is doing fine. Is there something I can tweak or change to make the site run faster? Thanks for the help |

Look on slashcode, there is a question that was quite similar to this not too long ago. Basically you need to tune your httpd processes and work on your memory usage. Slash can use a lot of memory, and you probably don't want that (so do things like turn the cache off). -Brian -- _______________________________________________________ Brian "Krow" Aker, br...@ta... I ran two sites off a low-end Pentium box for over a year (slash 1.0 days). After over a year, I ended up breaking it up into two pentium boxes - one for http, one for sql. But they key is ram - get atleast 128 in there. Shane |
