Anybody have any idea how i could add some html to the end of every "set of threaded replies"? After all those one-line threads for a certain comment, i need to close a table, but since displayThread is recursive, im not quite sure where to put that. Patches item #421628, was updated on 2001-05-05 07:06 You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=304421&aid=421628&group_id=4421 Category: MAIN branch Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Alessio Bragadini (alessio) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Adds a wrapper for LAST_INSERT_ID Initial Comment: LAST_INSERT_ID() is a MySql function to return the primary key of the latest record inserted. It's not supported by other engines. This patch for Slash::DB::MySQL.pm wraps all calls of LAST_INSERT_ID() in a getLastInsertId subroutined that can be redefined in other databases. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=304421&aid=421628&group_id=4421 |

Fry has been majorly updated in its modules. We moved much of Slash and Slash::Utility out to other Slash::Utility:: modules. Still, only do "use Slash;" and "use Slash::Utility;". Except for the few cases where currently they are used directly (such as in Slash::Display), you must not access these new sub-modules directly. "use Slash;" and "use Slash::Utility;" will work the same as before (except that most things are in Slash::Utility that were in Slash, but still, use both modules in most cases). If you have any problems with functions or methods or classes not being found, or something broke in fry that worked before, please let me know. And PLEASE update now before you change more in your own code. -- Chris Nandor pu...@po... http://pudge.net/ Open Source Development Network pu...@os... http://osdn.com/ |

Hi, I'm interested in personalizing the look of my slash site. I'm not sure to go about this besides editing blocks, which seems a little confusing. Does anyone have a howto or tutorial they can refer me to? Also, for setting up mutliple users, do they have to have user accounts on the site, or should login for new user create a new user account where the slash site it hosted ... Erena |

At a Boston Perl Mongers meeting last night, two of the current developers of the Reefknot project, of which Net::ICal is a part, gave a presentation. Reefknot / Net::ICal is definitely something that should be a part of a calendar system for Slash. This way you can do things like: * Import/export data with other calendar systems * Talk to the calendar server with any kind of client you want Of course, this is all a lot of work. Hopefully the Reefknot folks do most of it for us. :-) -- Chris Nandor pu...@po... http://pudge.net/ Open Source Development Network pu...@os... http://osdn.com/ |

I need beta testers for a Calendar plugin. Anyone interested? If so, email me back. I'm looking for 3-5 people to thoroughly test this thing for me. I'll include the README from it so that you can get an idea about what it does, and where I'd like to go with it in the future as time permits. Inorder to test this, you should be comfortable with the following: re-installing templates using the template-tool re-installing plugins removing templates by hand via sql commands modifying the portald-site that you currently run, if you do at all. Thanks, Shane NAME README - Calleria Readme WARNING This release of Calleria is BETA software. Run at your own risk. There ARE bugs, there ARE broken and incomplete features, and documentation is not yet finished or wrong. REQUIREMENTS: You need the following perl modules installed: Date::Manip, Date::Calc, XML::Parser DESCRIPTION: This is a Calendar add-on for Slash. What it does: - it graphically shows when stories have been posted. - it has it's own EVENTS system, and graphically shows those as well. - handles calendars beginning with SUN or MON. - it can pre-render/cache calendar data for large amounts of data (ie busy sites) What it does not do: - it is not a full featured Calendar/scheduling program such as Microsoft's Outlook. CURRENT STATUS: Beta, but it's actually starting to *look* like something. :) IMMEDIATE TO-DO: get people to test it Vcards and/or ICAL for direct importing data into PDA's Eventual to-do: write admin code to manipulate the events. create a user-submission system for the events, or tag it into submit.pl somehow. Clean up the code according to http://slashcode.com/docs/slashstyle.html WANTED: I need help/suggestions for the postgres SQL schema and data dump, since I know no postgres whatsoever. FUTURE IDEAS: Incorporate Net-ICal. WHAT THIS HAS BEEN TESTED ON: Slash 2.0.0-pre3 on Redhat 6.0 - 7.1 with 5.6.1 and Apache 1.3.19. WHERE TO GET THIS: Currently beta testing, please email CONTACT ME: You can email the author at sh...@lo... or tf23 on irc.slashnet.org #slash EXTRA: If you find this useful, or have suggestions, comments, criticisms, bug reports, whatever, please send them to me via email. I am not sure if this is covered in the archive or not ... I didn't see it in the last couple of weeks. In pre3 the dispStory;misc;default the link that is created for stories in a different section has a hard link to the section directory. I changed [% IF magic; title = "<A HREF=\"$constants.rootdir/$story.section/\"><FONT COLOR=\"$user.fg.3\">$section.title</FONT></A>: $story.title"; ELSE; title = story.title; END %] to the following [% IF magic; title = "<A HREF=\"$constants.rootdir/index.pl?section=$story.section\"><FONT COLOR=\"$user.fg.3\">$section.title</FONT></A>: $story.title"; ELSE; title = story.title; END %] I did the same thing in the light version. I am new to slashcode so I am not sure this is the correct way to submit any items like this. Thank you for your time. Randy |

I like this design at it looks very simple to implement and understand fro every people. Yea, we must explain this to our community and you know the difficult yo explain difficult things to lots of people ;-) So we can start to think about the development of the plugin, the table we need ... but maybe now is better to take this thread out of the list. We can also take as a tutorial on writing plugins for slashcode :-) I wait for your response ;-) Cheers -- Alvaro > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Alvaro del Castillo" <ac...@ba...> > To: <sla...@li...> > Sent: Friday, 27 April, 2001 00:15 > Subject: Re: [Slashcode-development] democratic moderation. > > > > El 27 Apr 2001 00:28:55 -0700, CertIndex.com Webmaster escribió: > > > sure thing. what kinda features did yours have? rules, variables, etc > > > > We have take the moderation system from comments, simplify it and apply > > it to the stories. well this is what we were thinking... people vote +, -, or 'indifferent' on each story. then when the story rea= ches the minimum number of votes (determined as a % of active site users) the story is 'moderated' b= y the code. if the story has >=3D x times the # of + as -, it's posted. for us the factor would be= like 1.1 or so since we just want a 'strong majority' to post the stories. but since it'll use this 'f= actor' variable, people can set this 'threshold' to watever they want. a factor of 2 would mean they = had to have twice as many + votes as - votes or more, to post the story. whuddya think? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alvaro del Castillo" <ac...@ba...> To: <sla...@li...> Sent: Friday, 27 April, 2001 00:15 Subject: Re: [Slashcode-development] democratic moderation. > El 27 Apr 2001 00:28:55 -0700, CertIndex.com Webmaster escribi=F3: > > sure thing. what kinda features did yours have? rules, variables, etc > > We have take the moderation system from comments, simplify it and apply > it to the stories.
