[Slashcode-general] my 2x -> 2y upgrade

Unless I find out later that something went dreadfully wrong, I just
upgraded from 2.0.0 prerelease 1 to 3 -- and what an anti-climax. I was all
prepared for hours of worry and stuckness, but with a make and make install
it appears that the upgrade is done. Thanks for the miracle.
