Curiously, how many CGI programs are there? thousands? hundreds of thousands? How many programs require the mod_perl compilation options? one? Last I checked, 90% of the people running shared hosts either A) weren't geniuses or B) were and charged an arm, a leg, and half your non-tech stock portfolio to do anything. So if it isn't in the distribution, it probably isn't on the host. Oh, and I was accounting for more of the general audience in estimating 20 minutes installation of a PHP weblog (however poor the coding of that log may be). I would expect (hope) that you could do it in 5 or less. Joel |
