[Slashcode-general] Bender (1.1.4) install question...

Hi,
I'm running SuSE 6.2. When I 'make install' I get an error that says
something like: install -D : unknown option. When I 'man install', I see
a -d option, but no -D. 
I'm using gnu make 3.77. 
Any hint ? Can you tell me what -D is supposed to do ?
