Sorry, let me expand now that I'm thinking about it more:

1) What version of Slash does it require to run?

2) Is Zoo what I need to implement "Friends of Friends" functionality?

3) The version of Journal that I have, according to journal.pl, is 
1.2.2.60.

Do I need to also update my Journal plugin?
