Run "/etc/rc.d/init.d/slashd start" (your path may differ, depending on your OS), either as root (necessary if you have more than one Slash site owned by more than one user), or as the user that owns the Slash site. The slashd daemon is in /usr/local/slash/sbin/, but you should run the init.d script to start/stop it for best results.
