[Slashcode-development] problem running bender on debian

After pulling my hair out and installing perl modules manually instead of
using CPAN shell or apt-get, I think I finally have all the required stuff
installed and setup... however whenever I try to start apache, it
immediately crashes and the following error shows up in apache's error.log:

Issuing rollback() for database handle being DESTROY'd without explicit
disconnect().
