#84 /. for PDAs and Wireless Devices

With more and more of us accessing the web via PDAs, it
would be nice to have a slimmed down version of /.
available by URL. The "light" version as it is today
requires logins and cookies, which are at best
cumbersome and at worst unavailable on a PDA. There is
a web clipping app (PQA) around, but many PDAs don't
support the format. And the "light" version only
applies to the home page anyway.

Google already has several URLs for this for PDAs,
Blackberrys and even phones, such as
www.google.com/palm and www.google.com/wml. They also
try (with mixed results) to redirect you interactively
to the appropriate interface. They have a minimal,
graphic-free interface and return less hits per page.

Any chance of adding something like this?

Thanks.

    What's wrong with www.slashdot.org/palm?

Works for me. I've used it for a number of years.
Actually, that might be slashdot.org/palm instead of
    www.slashdot.org/palm

Here's what I get when I go there in lynx, for instance:
