#79 un-merge would be a good addition to merge tool
In order to backstep from mistakes gracefully, it would
be nice if the merge function (which currently collects
multiple check-marked submissions together into one
aggregate submission) could also serve as an *unmerge*
in the event a story is added into one of these
aggregates in error.
This would not require a new button, though a new label
would be nice, perhaps "merge / unmerge."
The behavior choice of merge / unmerge could just
depend on whether multiple boxes were check-marked
("merge these together") or only one, a previously
merged multi-part submission ("un-merge this one into
its parts").
This has not yet happened to me, but today while
deleting a few stories, I hit merge instead of update
(twitchy mouse finger), and realized that the ability
to backstep from "merge" would be nice.

Why not just be more careful instead of making us spend time
making it so you don't have to pay attention? :)
