The Hall of Fame is cool, from a statistician-geeky
sort of perspective, to see what stories are really
popular. But it's also really useful to find the most
popular, and (perhaps by some measure) most important
stories and comments posted, for future reference.
As /. gets more and more popular, more recent stories
will have much greater potential for comments than
otherwise equally popular stories posted 2 or more
years ago. So, the HOF is unfairly biased towards
recent stories. And several interesting reads have now
fallen off the end of the list (like the marriage
proposal, always good to look at when one's feeling down).
I'd suggest a link, under each of the top-10 lists in
the HOF, where the user can see a complete list, maybe
in blocks of 50, maybe limited to 100 or whatever else
is reasonable for your DB's survival, of popular
stories. Maybe even with more detailed sorting options
like total number of comments, highest average comment
