tf23> is there a way to redirect the user to *exactly*
where they were after they post a comment to a story? i
just posted something to LJ, and it seemed to work that
way. I don't recall slash doing that. maybe I'm wrong.
could be my brain's fried from writing views in msSQL7.
<tf23> make that exactly where they were before the
comment post
<jamie> no, they end up looking at the cid they posted.
<jamie> in theory you could send the
sid,cid,mode,commentsort,threshold into the "reply to
this" link and carry it thru the preview/submit
process, then go there after successful submit.
<tf23> jamie: yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about
<tf23> hmm. that would be a nice user_pref - after
comment post take me back or show the new posted comment.
<jamie> patches welcome :)
<tf23> heh
<tf23> I'll put it on my to-look-into list.
<tf23> i'll submit a RFE for it, just the same. maybe
someone'll see it and get the urge to code it up before
I find the time to look at it.

I'd love this. Messaging works great in one's own journal,
but not in someone else's. This would go hand in hand with
tagging another user's JE to see when more comments are
posted to it.
I only read about perl, and have never really used it. :( If
someone wants to code this, just wants help, perhaps i can
be of service. I'd love to see this implemented.
