I often find myself wanting to read a story but without the time, so I
usually end up forgetting about it. I could instead bookmark the
story, but this bookmark would only be associated with the browser
I'm currently using. It would be better if I could mark stories on the
server side for later access.
One way to do this is by allowing users to "star" stories, a la Gmail
or ITunes, so that users can access the set of stories they have
starred at some later point. But a more flexible and more
community-building feature would be to allow users to "tag" stories,
a la del.icio.us. Each user would have his or her own set of tags for
eahc story (e.g., a "Read These!" tag), but the server would also
allow users to browse one anothers' tags. This provides another
way for users to explore stories and interact.

I think this sort of thing is better suited to external applications myself, but
if someone wants to code it, I'd consider it.
