For accessibility with browsers like Lynx, it would be nice to have a
menu at the very beginning of the page (hidden to CSS-enabled browsers)
that allows one to immediately jump directly to content, navigation,
etc.

I know there is a 'Stories' link, but it is specific to the main page
and is not one of the first links available.

For a great example, visit SourceForge in a text-based browser like
Lynx, or simply disable CSS temporarily in Firefox.
