Why can't slashdot invent a script or some kind of
software that ACTUaLLY checks when the SAME story has
been posted already before? It's an obvious solution to
ALLL of these dupes on this website? They should have a
spellcheck, and have some sort of program that detects
i.e. the same title and/or story that has been posted
before, and it should check the entire database for the
previous year so that this website is WAYYYYY more
efficient in its articles! I really really really hope
somebody responds to this :)

Hey, Slashcode is open soruce so instead of telling us what to program, how
about you just write it for us? From your description, it should be really easy! All
we need is a spellcheck, and... some sort of program...

ummmm ya ok - however the only coding that i know how to do
is to edit webpage html code - and i mean thats it! lol! i
tried to do matlab at uni during engineering but i just find
    coding awfully hard.

sorry if i cant code but its true - anyway i thought it
would be a good idea if anybody else has the brains and time
to do it, cause it would make slashdot way more efficient
    than it is.. thanks tho!
