#170 Stories don't list year of post

Stories (85)
John Davin

This is almost closer to a bug than a feature request.
I've never understood why Slashdot does not list the
year along with the month and day listed at the top of
an article. If you are searching the archives, reading
old articles, you have no way of knowing how old they
are because the year isn't listed.
Also, for example, in today's <a
article</a>, it says: "We did a related story on <a
math problems</a> two years ago."
But I have no way of knowing that it was really two
years ago.

If you are logged in, you can set your own date format
preferences, and then you do get the year (if your date
format preferences print the year). The default date format
does not, but you may choose another.

Additionally, the year is in the URL, though that is
obviously less preferable as a source of the desired
information, and is also less reliable (it's merely the date
the article was saved, not the date it was published).
