#4562 subscription email links fail starting 6/3/2011

I get slashdot via email. I click on the links to read the articles (yip). Today, I click and get:

Error 503 Service Unavailable

Happens for all email links.

If I try to enter any of the email links 'manually', in my FF browser -- same thing.

I am able to enter the front page and read articles from there.

So wazzup?

I don't know of any changes in my config and have been reading /. like this for years, ... so...
what's changed?
