#4350 limit on friends

I didn't see a "contact us" email address, so I'm posting here. This question is related to slashdot specifically.

Is there a actual/practical limit to the number of friends/foes a user has? If I invest considerable time in friending/foeing many people, can I reasonable assume that preference will persist?
