#4345 slashdot.org loading issues after opening comment response

Situation:
Browsing http://slashdot.org on Firefox 3.0.8 or IE7 on LAPTOP running Vista SP1 from COMCAST connection.
Post witty comment on article.
Receive less witty response to above comment and receive email notification of reply.
Open reply notification email in Thunderbird 2.0.0.21 and click on link to view less witty reply.
No longer able to browse to http://slashdot.org on LAPTOP from COMCAST connection.
Rebooting LAPTOP doesn't change issue. Using IE7 or FireFox doesn't change the issue.
Can still browse sub-domains of slashdot, ie, http://tech.slashdot.org
LAPTOP moved to VERIZON connection, can browse http://slashdot.org without an issue.
After several days had passed, was able to browse http://slashdot.org again from LAPTOP on COMCAST connection.
Open new comment reply email link. Same above situation occurs again.

Doesn't matter if I am logged in or not. There is no error message, 404, or otherwise. The connection simply doesn't respond.
