#4341 scrolling broken

scrolling on the front page of slashdot is broken in firefox/ubuntu. similar to problems caused by CSS that forces the browser to completely rerender the page with every scroll step. possibly related to the new "load extra stories when user reaches bottom of page" feature. scrolling is very jerky with middle mouse click/rotate and arrow keys.
