#4258 firehose RSS feeds aren't filtered

For about a day now, the /. firehose feed has been broken for me. It looks like the filtering is no longer happening, and the feed instead tracks every item in the firehose, even if it's a comment from some random person who I don't care about. If I try to grab a new feed URL by modifying the filtering parameters on the firehose page and subscribing to the corresponding feed URL that is generated, it's broken in the same way.

There seems to also be a new feed link on the firehose page, http://slashdot.org/firehose_stories.rss, but in Akregator, the item URLs from that feed are treated like file:// URLs, which is very inconvenient.

I've gone back to using the main RSS feed right now, but I'm hoping that I'll find out sometime soon that the problem is fixed in some way, so I can go back to using a feed that includes the less popular stories that aren't in the main feed.
