#4253 front page layout

I'm using Firefox 3.0.1
Screen resolution is 1024x768.
I'm not using my own CSS to view Slashdot. Text is not zoomed in or out.
I'm logged in with my handle at Slashdot which is the same as my handle on Sourceforge.

This is what the business part of the Slashdot homepage looks like for me.

Yet these weird changes aren't reflected on my user page or the help & preferences page

Finally I've been trying to rectify the situation by disabling Slashboxes at Slashdot. Every time I do disable them and save the configuration, Slashdot RE-ENABLES the Slashboxes.
