I have code that downloads Slashdot's RSS feed
every 3 hours. Some of the articles on the web
site's home page are not in any of the downloaded
RSS feeds.
Right now, on the front page under "Older Stuff"
for Friday, October 10, I see these headlines
among others:
# Sprint's Xohm WiMax Network Debuts In Baltimore, Works Well (80)
# Asus Ships Eee PCs With Malware (117)
# Arthropod Chain Gangs (42)
# Computer-Aided Lego Art Project (109)
The first and last did appear in the RSS feed, but
the middle two did not.
The midnight October 11 RSS feed is the first one
that shows the symptom. I have attached it.
The missing articles do not appear in any of the
RSS feeds I downloaded between the times the
articles were posted and 6am October 12.
Oct 11 00:00 RSS feed, missing two articles
I can confirm this is still happening on Dec 11. I also noticed I see all the headlines before I log in , but after I log in the same articles which missing in the generic feed are missing in my page view, even though in my preferences I have _all_ sections. I suspect this is happening to everyone who automatically logs in! The articles which go missing are _not_ distinguished by which sections they are in.
On the 2nd of March, so far none of the articles have shown up even though there are 13 new articles on /. and I don't auto-login. So I guess it's still happening.
As of now, http://feeds.feedburner.com/slashdot/audio hasn't been updated for over 24h.
Not sure whether this is the same problem resurfacing or unrelated...
