I just noticed the same thing. "Meta-moderation" has turned into an additional moderation pass, and not meta-moderation at all.

Worse, the criteria for +/- in meta-moderation are different from the criteria for the original moderation. For example, a comment might be offtopic, but still something readers would benefit from. So it would be valid to meta-mod it + (as per the new instructions), even though the offtopic -1 mod was correct.

In fact, if meta-moderation is just going to be Digg-style +/-, you might as well get rid of the various kinds of moderation on comments and just go to +/- on that too.

At any rate, the meta-moderation FAQ is now out of date and needs rewriting to reflect what meta-moderation now involves.
