#4048 cannot change signature??!!

Someone screwed up big time. I have never been so frustrated with this site in my entire life. I tried to change my prefs, then tried to submit a bug report, and this is going on 2 hours now. Unbelievable.

I've been SEARCHING my preferences of slashdot, and my option to change my signature has VANISHED!?

Talk about the one important thing that everyone sees about my /. user. Even from the preferences->posting help text "display your sig". I've clicked on every box in the preferences, and I see no place to change my sig text.

/. configuration has changed every week for the last 6 months or so. I spent an additional hour changing my sig about one month ago. Much more work and this becomes a waste of my time.

C'mon slashdot! I'd like to think that I'm pretty good at this stuff. I've been using the site for over a decade. This is the first time I've been pulling my hair out for it. If you think I'm an idiot and this is an obvious option... well... it isn't.

I checked again, and the prefs page has changed since I originally submitted the bug.

Now the "user info" text under "help&preferences" is an active link. It is here and only here that the user can change the signature. This is quite confusing because it is not the same look as the rest of the links, and it took me about 10 minutes to figure out that I could click on it.
