#4039 D2 nearly unusable when moderating.

When I get mod points, the new AJAXy discussion system (which I generally think rocks, BTW. Good work!) becomes nearly unusable in Firefox on the Mac. Any time the cursor touches anything that could generate an event (a link, a pulldown, entry field) I get the spinning beach ball of doom for about 10-20 seconds depending on the number of comments posted. It's pretty sluggish on Firefox in Linux, too, but not quite as bad.

This may be more of a poor JS/DOM implementation in the Mac/Firefox, but a quicker workaround would be to put an option in the comments preferences to "Use D2 except when moderating." After I move back to Arizona in a couple weeks, I'll take a look at the code and see if I can come up with a patch for this.
