#3956 Full/abbreviated in preferences doesnt work

Preferences -> Homepage has an "amount of content" radio button table that is supposed to let you choose Full/Abbreviated format for various sections. Apart from the leftmost column which hides the section entirely, the other buttons dont work, as choosing them doesnt change anything at all.
