The new moderation system makes Opera 9.01 very slow
and unresponsive when the article has many comments
(more than 500) on Sempron 2200 RAM 512 Win2k SP4

This error shows up on the error console:

    Opera's JS is broken.

Opera is busted. Get a working browser, or submit patches
    please!

I hope the issue doesn't become "open" after posting this but just to update, sorry if it gets open as I know it has nothing to do with /. code.

Opera 9.10 here, final version on current OS X 10.4.9

Opera losing entire responsiveness and hits 100% CPU on a Quad G5 (PPC970) system having 2.5 gigs of RAM. The issue is already reported to Opera via their bugtracker, the bug id is 255327

I am happy to say WFM, yes recent Opera final seems to fix the issue.

    Version
    9.22
    Build
    3687
    Platform
    MacOS X
    System
    10.4.10

I am not sure the discussion2 works flawlessly (not that much a user) but it browses slashdot articles fine with discussion2 enabled and no CPU flood as before.
