Comment threshold doesn't seem to be working right. I
don't see all the comments for the threshold I select
while if I go to a lower threshold, I can see them.

For example, take this slashdot article:
http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/07/06/1547216

If I select the threshold of 1, 15 comments show up, 10
of them have a score of 2 or more. However, if I select
the threshold of 2, only 2 comments show up and one is
a score of 3 and the other a score of 4.

This has persisted across computers, if I'm logged or
not logged in, trying logging in under a different
usernames, nested, threaded, flat, and well, everything
else I could find to play with to get it working.

I think you are expecting the wrong behavior. Correct me if I am wrong, after
    reading the explanation.

If you use threaded mode (as opposed to nested), then there are two different
thresholds being used: the one you know of, and the "highlight threshold",
which is in your user prefs (I forget the default offhand).

In this mode, you will see the full comments only for comments that are at or
above the highlight threshold, and the "abbreviated" comment for comments
that are below that, but still at or above the normal threshold.

If you want to see the full comment for whatever threshold you are at,
consider using the nested mode instead.

(Note: this is made simpler in Discussion2, where you can change threshold
and highlight threshold on the fly, without reloading, using JavaScript/CSS.
It's currently in beta for subscribers.)

Ah, but the problem is I normally do use nested. I have my
user preferences set to 2, nested as default. However I
never see half the comments that have a score of 2 unless I
manually set the threshold for that article down to 1. I
just noticed that changing how it's displayed whether it be
nested, flat, or threaded, doesn't seem to make a
difference. And it's not even that I'm seeing an abbreviated
comment, I just don't see them *period*.

    Like in the article above?
    http://games.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=190456&cid=15669118
    and
    http://games.slashdot.org/comments.pl?sid=190456&cid=15668870
both do not show up when I select threshold of 2, despite
they both have a score of 2.

They both show up for me, when I am logged in anonymously (as do all other 18
2-or-higher-ranked comments). Also, they both have a score of 3 for me.

Bwah? *checks herself* Well, it works when I'm *not* logged
in. Could have sworn it didn't work before... So, it has to
be something in my preferences for my slashdot account.

Any ideas? I have it set to 2, nested as I said before. I
have no addtional modififiers for any of the reasons, karma,
or anonymouse, I've set it to reparent highly rated threads
(which is what I thought it might be not doing since it does
appear that the comments I'm not seeing are children of
comments that I do filter out but I've double checked that
setting numerous times.), but nothing I change in there
makes a lick of difference. I tried clearing cache for the
browser, in case it was just pulling from cache, but nada.

Any suggestions would be much appreicated and thank you very
much for helping me this far.

My next suggestion was going to be about reparenting ... what is you user name
    on Slashdot?
