#3681 Javascript loop with Slashdot's new look?

Hello,

I am experiencing a problem with the new Slashdot site where for every page loaded, the browser freezes for 10-15 seconds and then displays a dialog box saying that Javascript is running too slowly or in a loop and asking if I want to abort running the script. My browser is iCab 3.0 beta 382 running on MacOS 9.1 with lots of RAM.

I have the browser configured to NOT accept cookies from most sites (including Slashdot) and to disable many Javascript features (such as opening new windows). These settings are not a problem however on "properly coded" sites, i.e. ones that do not try to set a cookie via Javascript dozens of times, etc.

I know that this is not a "popular" platform anymore, but maybe you could figure out why the Slashdot scripts are running for so long?
