Logged in w/ my normal account, and this was first:

And saw this:
The next Slashdot story will be ready soon, but
subscribers can beat the rush and see it early!

One would think that Non logged in users would also see
the subscribe prompt and have the most recent storey hidden

I have two guesses, presented here in order of likelihood:

    (a) Your Homepage preferences (/users.pl?op=edithome) are set up to
show None of the stories from the Science section, or you've unchecked
Zonk's checkbox. While logged in, the "next Slashdot story" referred to
was not actually the Quantum Computing story.

    or

    (b) Zonk's story was rescheduled further in the future during the brief
    moments where you logged in.

Please check your Homepage preferences settings and let me know if
the first guess is correct. If not, please let me know your Slashdot user
ID or nickname, whether you can replicate this error again, and if so, at
what approximate time you succeeded in replicating it.

    Jamie -

    1) on my Homepage, in the "Customize Stories on the
Homepage" section, all sections are set to "Best" and all
authors are checked. The only customization are the
    Slashboxes.

    2) my user nick is : Christopher_G_Lewis (260977)

    Hope this helps.
