Hello,
I submitted a story a moment ago for Slashdot entitled:
Green Hills calls Linux "insecure" for defense.
When I go to either my page, or the "submit stories"
page, the entry was truncated, and appears as such:
Green Hills calls Linux "insecure" for def
(articles,linux) (pending)
I browsed back on my browser to see that I didn't
accidentally forget to fill in the whole name of the
article, but it was all there. Perhaps the submission
system is truncating the title name because of the
quotes? This might also be a new bug.

This is a known problem, that's been around a long time, where we encode
things in the submission form at the wrong time, because to fix the
problem is a lot of work. Basically, as you appear to guess, the " is
converted to its HTML encoding (").
I'll leave this open so someday someone can fix it. :-)

Aha, that's why I couldn't ever replicate this behavior
before, because I always used boring titles with just
letters in them.
