Hi Esteban, The routines you mention use non-open-source code. I haven't done this in awhile, but I recall using matlab's DSP toolkit filter design functions as an alternative. Those should yield similar results. See: https://www.mathworks.com/help/signal/ug/iir-filter-design.html https://www.mathworks.com/help/signal/ref/yulewalk.html I've also found useful scripts at matlab's file exchange: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/?utf8=%E2%9C%93&term=iir+filter+design Regards, --joel On 10/22/2018 6:48 AM, Esteban Zanardi wrote: > Hi! is there anyone who have tried to change the sound absorption > coefficients? > > I have find the*matcoeffs.cpp* file but it redirects to > *slabMakeMaterials.m* and *mat2cpp.m*. Hi! is there anyone who have tried to change the sound absorption coefficients? I have find the* matcoeffs.cpp* file but it redirects to *slabMakeMaterials.m* and *mat2cpp.m*. I guess these are matlab files, but i couldn't find them anywhere. Thanks in advance, Esteban |

I am developing an Audio Server that encapsulates Slab3d in a managed C# environment to render and manage sound scenes. The server supports configuration file (static) and commanding over IP (dynamic), or a combination of both. The problem I am having is that, when using an Asio device for output, the commanding mode gives the above error returned from the OutASIO function call, whereas the config file mode works fine. I have stepped thru both modes and both pass the same parameters to OutASIO. Both modes use the same Slab root directory and same Slab configuration. My ASIO device is an RME FireFace UCX. I am running Win 7 64 bit SP 1. If you can give some causes for the referenced error, perhaps that will give some clue as to why it works one way and not the other. BTW, Direct Sound works both ways. I think SLABScape is what you're after... See the Dynamic Settings dialog (D toolbar button) - that allows you to move the current source (units in meters). The droplists under the source names (e.g., 1/red, 2/green) allow you to create a square or circle trajectory based on the current source position (use the space bar to start/stop - see the other hot keys as well on the Help menu Help page). The Static Settings dialog (little S toolbar button) Sound Sources tab allows you to specify sound sources other than the default white noise. Re "precision on the order of a few degrees", see the 2002 paper at: http://humansystems.arc.nasa.gov/groups/ACD/personnel_view.php?personnel_id=81 for more info re HRTF processing (30 degree az database with real-time linear interp...). If you have a denser HRTF than jdm.slh, you could convert it to slab3d format and use SLABScape to render it. See the User Manual for more info re HRTF format. Re coding - best to start with the slabcon project - console app with several examples. Hello all, I'm trying to make a binaural simulation of the movement of a sound source - with precision on the order of a few degrees - or, alternatively, which allows me to simulate a virtual space in which the location of sound sources can be chosen. With that purpose in mind, I've installed slab3d and read almost the whole user manual, and ran, among others, SLABScape.exe. Despite that, I can't seem to do anything with it, which brings me to the question: is there some "ready to use" way to achieve what I'm looking for in slab3d (SLABScape.exe seems like what I want, but I'm not getting into anything till now), or I'll have to code it all by myself in Visual Studio / C++? If so, is there any example out there on how to do it (at least some kind of "hello world" thing)? If someone can help me, I would be deeply appreciated. Thank you very much, João Fernandes |

There are no listener Mod functions - the Mod functionality is admittedly pretty minimal - modifiers were added as needed... The slabtools do not presently fully support converting CIPIC HRTF databases to slab3d HRTF databases. The CIPIC-related tools that exist were primarily implemented to examine CIPIC data. We've experimented a bit with conversion but do not have anything release-ready. The main steps prior to mat2slab() would be converting the HRIRs to minimum phase, converting the coordinate system from CIPIC coords to slab3d coords, generating the appropriate fixed-increment slab3d database grid, and generating or converting the ITDs. > > Thanks in advance. > > --- > David Grenet > PhD candidate > Neuroscience Research Australia > > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Systems Optimization Self Assessment > Improve efficiency and utilization of IT resources. Hi, Is there any way to contiuously move the listener in SLABScape, using SLABScript the way ModSrcLocate moves a source perhaps? I suppose I could just give a new location every 0.1s but this seems rather inelegant as a solution. Also, regarding the conversion of CIPIC HRIRs to SLAB format with slabtools, is it posible to do this just with mat2slab or is there an intermediate step required? Thanks in advance. --- David Grenet PhD candidate Neuroscience Research Australia |
