I know that the preferred way is to use linux-clone script. I try that but when using rsync we end with system configured as live cd (without passwords etc.). I tried to force using the passwords and for terminal I was success but for GUI applications I doesn't even know where to start searching for it. So I decide to try the ubiquity. And it was almost successful. One thing that I that I found is probably some bug in ubiquity that I reported to canonical (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1976177) but also there is problem with default (preseeded?) values that ubiquity try to use. And that is why I'm writing here. Does anyone knows what is the source of those values used by ubiquity? I saw that preseed directory is empty but ubiquity get values from somewhere since on rsynced system It won't even start due the lack of default keyboard value.

I was able to finish Ubiquity installation by:
    1.) installing ubiquity ubiquity-frontend-gtk, ubiquity-frontend-gtk-panel, qubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu and all dependencies
    2.) mounting loop0 to /media/cdrom and symlinking to /cdrom
    3.) reseting passwd/user-password-crypted using debconf-comunicate

Unfortunately system not booted. What are my other options to install skywave on VM with user account normally working (passwords, ability to change user etc.)?
