Skywave Linux 2.2 Will Upload Shortly

Please stand by for the upload of Skywave Linux version 2.2, bringing updated software and expanded hardware compatibility.

Software packages for the user interfaces Gqrx and CubicSDR have been freshened. You now have R820Tweak for adjusting driver parameters in R820 based RTL-SDRs. Also, a new subcarrier tuner has been scripted for RTL-SDRs - perfect for accessing TACAMO ORDERWIRE sognals or accessing subcarriers on your local FM broadcasters.

We're up to Linux kernel 4.10, which works with more wireless interfaces, and other peripherals. SDR firmware has been updated with emphasis on compatibility with Airspy, SDRplay, Hackrf, and LimeSDR devices. The Unity desktop environment has been tweaked a bit, set to low graphics mode and with certain daemons shut down to make more CPU and memory available for radio applications.

I know some of you out there have had headaches running Skywave Linux on certain HP / Compaq machines with oddball audio chipsets. Version 2.2 should address the issues on most systems. If the live system doesn't run out of the box, consider doing a full install to a USB stick and using the specific driver config that works.

Enjoy the update!
