This is an amazing extension to Astrolog and I'm keen to get into this ability to just stream out the data via DBUS, so please don't consider these as 'complaints' - I do realize no one promised it would work with my configuration, but it is just so close I'm hoping to resolve it's differences.

I am running Ubuntu 24.04 with Postgresql-16 and Qt6

Having compiled from the latest sources, I am able to use Skydmin and I can launch Skylendar and enter a new chart, but there are a number of odd quirks; I don't know enough about c++, pg or qt yet to say why or where, but here are the symptoms:

  • closing any panels by frame button or Ctrl-W will exit the application immediately, with no messages in debug (-b) mode
  • 'save' on a new chart reports no errors, but on the next run the added chart data is missing and must be re-loaded from the skif file. If I select Save to DB, I'm told the current chart must be saved to a skif; I had expected these to just be saved to the DB in both cases.
  • for the attached screencap, I created a new chart, then drag'n'dropped it on the Now chart hoping to see transits. The screencap shows April 6 having the sun at 29 Aries 32?!

I also noticed during the compile many warnings about buffer sizes being smaller than the expected size of the data, but there are no other compile errors or warnings, compilation succeeds and installs.

Again, I understand I'm pushing my luck with my environment, but the features here are just so inviting that I may even learn C++ if that's what it takes to make it work! :)
