When i check the ASCOM downloaded image it is green & blue (see attached).
The sky Simulator "Image" shows a star field but has an orange tint to it.
In NINA when I take an exposure (6 sec) it does not show a star field, just noise.
The image is only used as interface between the program and the Sky_simulator driver.
In older versions these images where normal 8 bit PNG images. Since the compiler for the Ascom driver could not handle 16 bit files, I applied a trick to transfer 24 bit deep mono image using the three colours, red, green, blue. They can only be decoded correctly by the Ascom sky_simulator driver. 24 bit is required to get enough dynamic range for every exposure time.
If you have any other problem or question, please ask.
Cheers, Han

If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
The ASCOM sky simulator driver need to be able to read the image.png file. Looks like it fails. No stars. The noise is generated internally. The image.png is default saved in Documents. Did you select Documents ( the path) in the driver setup. So setup up menu of the camera. It has a large button "image".

So you have to select the ASCOM driver "Sky_simulator" at not the image itself.
In NINA I connect my camera with " Sky Simulator - ASCOM " driver & Mount with Telescope simulator for .NET
This is the image I get when I take a 6sec image -- See attached. The image is auto stretched.
