    Dear Han,
it's possible to use the same catalog (g17) installed for Astap without have to reinstall it in the Sky simulator directory?

It seems that using G14 in SharpCap, the plate solving and polar align tools fails . Using G17 it works.

    Thanks for your great works!

    HelloFabio,

At the moment it is not possible to set the path in the Sky Simulator. Maybe in the future. So the only solution is to copy the G17 to the Sky Simulator. Or copy Sky_Simulator to the ASTAP directory.

What is the FOV your using? Maybe it is better to make a G17 installer available for the Sky simulator. I have also somewhere a G16 database.

      Hello Han,

I use a FOV 2.2x1.5° (500 mm FL, 4.63x4.63 µm pixel, 4144x2822 ;  1.98"/pix as in my real setup: Borg 101 ED and ASI 294MC-Pro)
Currently I install the G17 Catalog also into Sky Simulator directory and it's OK.
My note is just to "simplify" but is not a big issue.
      Thanks again

The G14 should be sufficient, but the G17 will create more stars. Both catalogs should work but G17 makes it easier :)

    Cheers, Han

    Hi Han,

After installing the g18 database, I set the Star database box to g18 and saved the settings. However, every time I start the Simulator the Star database box reverts to g14.
