Hi,
I'd like to suggest the implementation of a quick switch between the normal viewing mode where there are several windows on a normal desktop and toolbars, sidebars and all that stuff are visible (my default mode for work) and a full-screen mode where all these other features are switched off and two pages are shown at a time. To get into that latter mode, I must currently execute the following sequence:
- Cmd-b (toolbars and other stuff at the top off)
- Cmd-Shift-t (sidebar with thumbnails off)
- Cmd-Shift-f (full screen)
- In the Menu: PDF->PDF-Darstellung (i.e., PDF display mode; I don't know the English text of that menu item)->two sides
- Cmd-Shift-r (adjust size automatically)
I use this mode when connecting my Laptop to a large monitor and displaying digitized musical scores; with a foot-operated switch, I can then turn the pages while playing music from the score on the screen. The last three of the above steps have to be repeated for every new file I open in this mode. When I get back to work, I have to restore the toolbars and sidebar as described in the first two steps.
It would be convenient if a new viewing mode could be provided that condenses switching between the normal mode and "music performance mode" with a single command. I am not aware of user-defined macro features of Skim that allow for doing that myself.

You can already do that. For the display mode, choose Save current settings
as default, while you are in full screen. This will remember the settings
for full screen mode. As for closing the side bars, you need to set a
hidden preference. See the Wiki for details.

Perfect! Thanks for the quick answer.
(Just in case someone else wants to use this as well: the relevant switches for the tool/side bars are SKAutoHideToolbarInFullScreen and SKCollapseSidePanesInFullScreen, which have to be set to "true".)
