SVN is short for "subversion" which is a revision control system.
See http://subversion.tigris.org/.
Skencil's development is now happening with SVN on wald.

First: Make an account on wald.intevation.org and tell me or
Bernhard what your account name is. Then there are several places,
where you could upload documentation.

SVN could be used for the source code, in this way more then on
person could help authoring it.

It might be a bit more work, though.
