Is there a way to combine the Dash Cam feature (specifically the start on power up) with either of the Time Lapse modes?

For security scenarios it would be helpful there were a way to set the camera to restart and continue to run a particular time lapse after any power interuptions.

From the little that I have experimented so far, the M10 Wifi seems to require that I go into the menu each time and select the the time interval to get a time lapse to run. I have also noticed that turnning on certain features will interfere with time lapse mode.

Perhaps from rather extensive experimention you might be familiar and willing to share some of the details about which settings and modes do and do not work in combination together? It would be helpful to understand these options both from the incamera menu point of view as well as though the programmatic api point of view.

Thanks, nice job!

I have been testing the Car Mode setting in SJ4000 WiFi several times while I'm writing 0.8.0 draft. Note that I don't have SJCAM M10, so my answer is purely based on SJ4000 WiFi with firmware version described in the guide.

Problems on using the camera in your scenario are:

    1. In normal condition, camera doesn't seem to remember which mode it was set to before shutting down; it always starts in normal video recording mode.
    2. Probably due to problem #1: with Car Mode setting enabled and power plugged in, the camera seems to boot up and start recording in normal video recording mode, regardless of the video recording mode it was set to at the last shutdown.
    3. As far as I know from my experiments, the timelapse video recording rate and related setting for timelapse photo shooting are volatile- they reset to default (1 frame/sec and 3 sec/shot) as soon as the camera is turned off. This is unrelated to problem #1.

To date, I haven't discovered any hidden settings (if they exist) that can be used to change these behaviors, so this particular scenario remains as an unresolved issue.

Anyway, thanks for asking. I'll keep this thread open in case I found any workable solution or workaround for them.
