In the Windows world I've seen .pl associated with scripts to be executed by Perl in a command shell and I've only seen .plx associated (by the ActivePerl install) with PerlIS, for exectuion in an ISAPI-supporting web server. In the Unix world I only know of using .PL, such as for Makefile.PL. A search for "perl AND plx" in Deja.com returns only a page's worth of references to what look like only discussion of PerlIS-related issues. A search for "perl plx" on Google turns up some random scripts, but mostly ones that run in a web server. There is no reference to "plx" in www.perl.com. Cheers, Richard *** Richard A.
